Hey y'all! I know we are already three months into the new year, and what a whirlwind it has been! In the past three months I have moved to a new apartment, taken another bar exam, and for the first time... ever, I am free of the obligations and responsibilities of being in school and/or preparing for an exam. I am free! 🙌🏾 Free to explore who I am and who I am becoming, free to explore my communities, and free to stretch my wings and just enjoy all the new things happening in my life.
Over the past few weeks (tbh it's been like two years lol), I have had this message on my heart of God doing a new thing in my life. I have been sowing seeds and God has continually been pruning and molding me, and as we are on the eve of a new season, literally and figuratively, I really feel and see that a new thing is happening in my life and in the lives of others around me.
Check out this scripture, Isaiah 43:18-19, that says, "Forget about what has happened; do not keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I am about to do something brand new. It's bursting out. Don't you see it? There it is! I am making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands." #anewthing
For me, a new thing has looked like ending relationships that no longer serve me. It has looked like eating and preparing meals at home to nourish my body with food that fuels and energizes me. A new thing looks like consistently spending time with God and reading what He says is true about me, about my life, and my hopes and dreams. A new thing for me is consciously deciding that I am going to approach things with a new attitude, a new perspective, and with more grace for myself and others. #growth
