10 Ways to Reduce Anxiety.

For so long, I’ve dealt with anxiety. I knew that I felt overwhelmed sometimes and that my thoughts were constantly moving, but I never really knew how to describe what it was that I was feeling. It wasn’t until my senior year of college that I began to really understand how anxiety played a role in my life.


Anxiety is one of the most common mental health disorders. Research from John Hopkins and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, shows that Black women experience anxiety more intensely than their white counterparts, big surprise?


While Anxiety may show itself in different forms, there are also many ways to decrease your anxiety.

Here are 10  ways to manage your anxiety and become less anxious.


1. Reciting or post affirmations in your room, car, planner, etc.

2. Practice yoga and meditation

3. Use aromatherapy

4. Exercise

5. Journal

6. Consult a therapist

7. Set boundaries

8. Reframe negative thoughts

9. Practice gratitude

10. Get social (even when you don’t want to) even if it's through FaceTiming, text, or a phone call.



You are not your anxiety, and it doesn't have to control your life. Take a few breaths and remember you got this! ✨
