March marks Women's History Month. Every year, the transition from Black History Month to Women's History Month feels like switching from one cute hairstyle to the next. Iykyk. 💁🏾♀️ When GirlTrek declared March 1 as the day to #ThankABlackWoman, I got excited thinking of all the ways that I could try and celebrate Black women, often times I am quickly overwhelmed with how many different ideas I may have and end up tabling most. This year, this month, I am operating with intention and audacity.
This month I am continuing to bet on myself, to trust in God's timing and way, and to keep going no matter how scared I am, no matter what I think people may say, and even if its imperfect. I hope that by walking boldly in who I am, in all my flaws, and in my mistakes, and in all my greatness, in all my gifts, that I can continue to create more space and access for other Black girls and women.
